Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop featuring products from the latest Close To My Heart Idea Book. This month there are about 20 bloggers sharing projects they created with products in the CTMH Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book. If blog hopping is new to you, we try to keep it easy: just keep clicking on the link to the next blog (typically near the bottom of the post) to visit the next stop. Our blog hop is circular so visiting the next blog will take you back to where you started.

You should have arrived here from ***Priscilla Gotham's Priscilla's Paperie***. If you get lost along the way, Melinda Everitt keeps a list of participants on her blog at If You Bling It.

One of the first things I created was this Thank You card. I do not recall seeing any projects created with die cuts from colored cardstock and stamped with the same neutral color so I decided to give it a try.

I stamped "thanks" with Archival Black on Vellum Paper. I selected Archival Black because it drys the quickest and most complete (without using a heat tool) on Vellum. I used the oval die from the Thin Cuts—Gift Card Box, but a die from the Thin Cuts—Basic Ovals (Z3328) could be used. I used a waterbrush with our dye inks. When you do that, be sure your brush is not too damp or your inks could end up with a muddy mess.

Unfortunately I recently needed a sympathy card. The card is for the brother and sister-in-law of a gentleman I have known most of my life (his mother-in-law took care of me before I was old enough to attend school while my parents worked). His brother and sister-in-law have also been there for me since my father died.

As you can see on this card I used the same neutral cardstock to die cut and used different ink colors for the stamped images. I love that our stamps are clear and can be manipulated a bit on the block so the "With Sympathy" sentiment fit on the banner.

One of the first projects I gravitated to in SE 1 was the banner on page 13 of Seasonal Expressions 1. As luck would have it I was in a craft store after Christmas hoping to stock up on gift boxes and I found a banner on clearance. The shape is a bit different, but it will still work. Unfortunately time ran out on me. I will share that project in the next couple of weeks.

Before you head to ***crzy4scrapbooking by Brandi Robinson***, the supplies I used to create my project are listed below.
