Typed Note April 2015 SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the Typed Note April 2015 SOTM Blog Hop. There are almost 60 bloggers participating in this hop. If you are new to hopping, just keep clicking on the link (typically near the bottom of the post) to visit the next blogger. My card was inspired by the Lucky Layers™ pattern on page 27 of Wishes™ Card Confidence Program™.


I have to admit I was a challenged by this stamp set since there were several greetings and only the two icons. I thought many people would be inspired by the typewriter and the cards in Annual Inspirations so I wanted to try to be a little different. I hope in your opinion it worked.

CTMH April 2015 Stamp of the Month: Typed Note

The Close To My Heart April 2015 Stamp of the Month is Typed Note.


Typed Note (S1504) is an exclusive D-size stamp set of 19 stamps that you can only purchase during the month of April 2015. The stamp set can be yours for $5 when you place an order of $50 or more in qualifying Close To My Heart Products. Alternatively you can purchase it for $17.95. Recommended CTMH My Acrylix® Blocks are: 1" x 3½" (Y1002), 2" x 2" (Y1003) and 4" x 5" (Y1012).

April 2015 also brings us Deal of the Day


April is the month for mystery and grab bags. Each day in April a new random grab bag filled with current and retired Close To My Heart products will be available at a drastically discounted price. The grab bag will be introduced daily at 3:00pm MDT, that's 5:00pm Eastern, and is available while supplies last; once they sell out on a given day you have to wait until the following day to purchase a grab bag. Choose Happy Swing Card

When I was creating something for the Choose Happy March 2015 SOTM Blog Hop I was testing a few ideas and this card was the result of one of those ideas.


I started by creating a 6½" x 5" side-fold card from Colonial White cardstock. Then with the Score Board I marked the side-to-side midpoint at the very top and bottom of the card front. I took this photo since I am not sure I am describing what I did very well:


After scoring the very top and bottom I placed my cardbase on the Versamat™ aligning the short score lines with a line on the mat to aid with where to stamp. Then I stamped my image and cut around the right side with a craft knife cutting only to the approximate midpoint. Then I finished the score line from the top to the cut and then the cut to the bottom (you may need to extend your cut to the score line or your score line to the cut; it's better to cut or score a little at a time).

Blog Candy Winner - Julie's 3rd Blogoversary - Celebrating Friendship Blog Hop

Spine Expanders for My Legacy™ Post-Bound Albums

Close To My Heart's scrapbook albums are available in post bound and D-ring styles.

The D-ring album style is easy to use and can be filled with any style of Memory Protectors™ until you can no longer fit any more. The D-ring is ideal for Pocket Style scrapbooking like Picture My Life™ and work in progress pages.

Card for 41 Weeks Until Christmas 2015

Happy St. Patrick's Day. It seems a little strange posting a Christmas card today. And no green used on it either.

Fortunately when I had an opportunity to cut this card again Cricut® Design Space was working like a charm. Between my post last Friday and the time I cut the card, I decided to add another layer and move the sentiment. I think it improved the card and I hope you do too

41 Weeks Until Christmas 2015

I cannot believe how fast this year is flying by. March is almost half over, but the past few days we have had beautiful weather. Temperatures have been in the 40s and I have been able to take the liner out of my coat. It has been wonderful and I hope the trend continues.

I have had this card on my mind and partially designed in Cricut® Design Space for a few weeks. Last night I think I finalized how I want it to look, but I just could not keep my eyes open to actually cut and assemble it. I will finish the card and post it before the weekend is over.

Cricut® Artfully Sent: Pocket Function

The video this week focuses on the Pocket Function key on the Cricut® Artfully Sent cartridge (Z3017). The Pocket Function key is very versatile because it can supplement Picture My Life™ layouts or be used on cards, home decor and traditional layouts.



The CTMH Corp. description of Cricut® Artfully Sent: Pocket Function is "The Pocket function of your Close To My Heart Cricut® Artfully Sent cartridge will spice up so much more than just your layouts."

Some tips shared in the video:
  • there are two sizes of pocket cards: 4" x 6" and 3" x 4"
  • a 4" x 6" and 3" x 4" solid pocket card can be found on the base key; they are to back your cut-out pocket cards
  • the 4" x 6" solid pocket card is #M17D25D in Cricut® Design Space and is found on page 50 of the handbook
  • the 3" x 4" solid pocket card is #M17D261 in Cricut® Design Space and is found on page 50 of the handbook

42 Weeks Until Christmas 2015

While keeping with my plan of creating at least one Christmas card each week, this is my card for 42 Weeks Until Christmas 2015.


It was fairly quick and easy to make. If I create this card again it will do something different with the Glacier base. Maybe I will find a coordinating background stamp to use and will stamp with Glacier ink so it does not take away from the ornament focal.
