Happy Birthday Florence

Our long-time neighbor and retired elementary school librarian (she had at least three generations of my family in school and I think all family members in my and my mom's generations) celebrated a birthday this week. Her daughter-in-law organized a birthday celebration for her at the assisted living facility she now resides at. I created this birthday card for her.

When the card is open, the greeting on panel 2 shows nicely. I had to stretch the card out to get this photo; this card is a bit of a challenge to photograph.

I was inspired by a card created by Melissa Sandidge in the Facebook Group CTMH Artwork (it was posted June 26, 2017, but continues to get comments so it is not too far down in the feed; click see more to view the cutting and scoring information). I used Wise Guy Birthday (this stamp is retiring on July 31). I used most of the Cricut® compatible stamps in this set and Thin 3-D Foam Tape on most of the Cricut® cuts to create dimension. I thought the White Daisy on the card front was too stark, so I used the sprinkles stamp dipped in two different colors each time I stamped (I inked one side and then the other).

This card ended up measuring 5½" tall x 5"wide. I am going to try to alter the measurements to create a more traditional 5½" tall x 4¼"wide card. If it works out I will share as soon as I can (I made a to do list and I have quite a few deadlines on it).
