Storybook Alphabet CTMH SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the July 2017 SOTM Blog Hop featuring the stamp set Storybook Alphabet. This month there are about 16 bloggers sharing projects they created with the CTMH Stamp Of The Month. If blog hopping is new to you, we try to keep it easy: just keep clicking on the link to the next blog (typically near the bottom of the post) to visit the next stop. Our blog hop is circular so visiting the next blog will take you back to where you started.

You should have arrived here from ***Alyson Mayo's Create with Alyson***. If you get lost along the way, Melinda Everitt keeps a list of participants on her blog at If You Bling It.

While I love the scrapbooking samples created by the CTMH Corporate Artists, I have not been in the mood to do any memory keeping lately, so I decided to create some monogrammed cards.

I cut the White Daisy rectangle using a Square from Basic Shapes. The Sea Glass cardstock was cut from a Square from Basic Shapes and a Border from Art Philosophy welded together. The lettering is from Flower Market. I layered the three ShinHan greens the try to achieve an Emerald color.

After writing "From The Desk Of" using the Flower Market alphabet, I watercolored the rectangle and then stamped. I am debating about embellishments; maybe it is better if I leave this card clean and simple. If you have ideas, please leave them in the comments.

I am afraid of white space, not really, but for some reason I feel like I have to cover it up. I think a lot of crafters do. During the hops I always see some great examples of folks using white space, so I thought I would give it a try. I used a zip strip behind the monogram. This card was influenced by the layout on page 25 of Seasonal Expressions 2.

This card was influenced by the card on page 30 of SE2. Again I have seen some wonderful examples of a "line" stamp just stamped and not colored in, so I am resisting my urge to color in the stamped image.

I hope you find an idea or two that you like. Before you head to ***Darlys Recker's Crafty Happy***, the supplies I used to create my project are listed below.

All supplies are from Close To My Heart except where noted:
If you are not already working with a CTMH Independent Consultant, you may purchase all of the supplies I used at my Consultant website. Before you leave I would be delighted if you left me a comment letting me know what you think of this Mother's Day Card. On this hop I hope you are finding many ideas for how you might use the Storybook Alphabet stamp set. Thanks for hopping with us! So you do not have to scroll back up, the next stop on the hop is ***Darlys Recker's Crafty Happy***.
