CTMH Heartfelt Sentiments SOTM Blog Hop - February 2019

Welcome to the February 2019 SOTM Blog Hop featuring the stamp set Heartfelt Sentiments. This month there are over 20 Consultants sharing projects they created with the CTMH Stamp Of The Month. Our blog hop is a circle - just keep clicking on the link to the next blog (typically near the bottom of the post) to visit the next post. Visiting the next blog will take you back to where you started.

You should have arrived here from ***Miss. Carrie's Creations by Carrie Simonds***. If you get lost along the way, Melinda Everitt keeps a list of participants on her blog at If You Bling It.

If you regularly hop with us or follow my blog, you know that I am a cardmaker. While this is a large stamp, it still works for cardmaking. I stamped with Intense Black and colored with ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers. I stamped the banner a second time, fussy cut it and used Thin 3-D Foam Tape to layer it.

We are often asked "Which is the best ink to use with the ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ markers?" Here is the answer from the CTMH FAQ: "The Intense Black Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pad works best with the ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ alcohol-based markers. You can also use solvent-based inks (like our Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ or StazOn™ inks). However, please note that if using solvent-based inks, you should avoid coloring directly over the inked image or touching the edges of the inked image because the edges of the image can become blurred. Water-based inks are not recommended. Be aware that over time the color from other inks may start to collect on the marker tips."

I thought really simple coloring would be fun too. This card is stamped with Intense Black and colored with Carmine and Warm Grey.

When I first pulled out the stamp to create, I played around with our previous Color of the Year – Bashful. I planned out work out my thoughts with this paper then use our current Color of the Year – Sugarplum, but time got away from me. I stamped with Charcoal and Pebble then used colored pencils for the leaves and flowers.

Then I thought it would be fun to layer some. I stamped and colored one layer, then fussy cut the "Heart Happy" and banner.

I used both 3-D Foam Tape and Thin 3-D Foam Tape to create even more depth on this card. This angle shot shows the layers better.

I hope you are enjoying our hop and found some great ideas.

Before you head to ***Melinda Everitt's If You Bling It***, the supplies I used to create my project are listed below.

All supplies are from Close To My Heart except where noted:
If you are not already working with a CTMH Independent Consultant, you may purchase all of the supplies I used at my Consultant website.

I love to hear what folks think about the items I create. If you have a little time, please leave a comment letting me know what you think of the card ideas. I hope you are enjoying the projects created with Heartfelt Sentiments — the February Stamp of the Month. Thank you for hopping with us!

So you do not have to scroll back up, the next stop on the hop is ***Melinda Everitt's If You Bling It***.
