Family Time SOTM Stamp Set

I enjoy creating cards and I hope when they are received they brighten that person's day. To that end, here is a recent card I created.

Card created for the Family Time (November 2019 SOTM) Blog Hop

I wanted to highlight the beautiful fall colors so I selected some new colors that remind me of autumn. I cut the cardstock strips from the Art Philosophy collection. So the white of card did not show through the bottom scallop strip I trimmed ⅛" off the bottom of the card front. To aid with layering and spacing the cardstock strips I lightly drew a horizontal line at the center (from top to bottom) of the card and then horizontal lines at the top and bottom center of those halves (creating four sections). I placed adhesive at the top of each lighter strip and lined them up at the top fold and each line (as I write this I wish I'd taken photos). Then add adhesive at the top of each darker strip and shimmy the top under the lighter strip and press down once you are happy with the appearance.

Before stamping I tried to make sure covered the entire front with the Anti-static pouch. I used a stamp platform to stamp because I knew I would need to have a nice juicy image to compensate for an uneven background. When removing the excess embossing powder, I was extra careful to pick up the card from the top so the embossing powder did not sneak into the scallops.

Here is where I have to admit I did not test my adhesive to make sure it would hold up under heat. While I heated the embossing powder the adhesive failed and I had to piece my card front back together. I think it turned out OK in the end; I hope you do too.
