March–April 2022 New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close to My Heart New Product Blog Hop featuring papercrafts created with products in the new CTMH Idea Book March–April 2022 catalog. Today's hop is brought to you from the same group who bring you the Stamp Of The Month Blog Hop.

There are almost 15 CTMH Makers sharing their creations on this hop. If you just happened upon my post, clicking the link to the next blog (often found near the bottom of the page) will take you full circle.

You should have arrived here from ***Brandi R - crzy4scrapbooking***. If you get lost along the way, Melinda Everitt keeps a list of all blog hop participants on her blog at If You Bling It.

For today's hop I created with the first item in the March–April 2022 catalog that screamed "you need me". I created four variations of the card. My first card was inspired by a card in the March–April 2022 catalog.

I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo, but the darker, true color side of the cardstock is on the outer edges of this card and the ligher side of the cardstock is in the center.

I cut Lagoon cardstock at 4¼" × 5½" first, then measured the opening on the die cut layer. I "padded" measurement a bit to ensure that only the lighter side of the cardstock would show through the opening, then cut out the middle using the SureCut™ Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer. The largest circle from the Circles Thin Cuts (Z3943) is large enough to do this, but you have to be very careful about lining up the die on the cardstock so only the lighter side of Lagoon shows through the cut out. For this reason, I prefer to use the paper trimmer.

On the card above, I thought it would be pretty to use two colors of cardstock that coordinate with the colored flowers. I used Sundance cardstock to cover the edges and Lemonade cardstock in the middle.

I thought this image would be gorgeous with Gold embossing so I inked with VersaMark™ ink and covered using Princess Gold Embossing Powder. I used the true (darker) side of Ballerina, but the Gold Embossed black cardstock would be beautiful with many cardstock colors.

I was on a roll and needed a card to send to a family friend who recently entered rehab after falling and breaking their hip. On this card I used the lighter side of Balleria cardstock.

  5. So beautiful. And thanks for showing the two-toned cardstock for the centers. It wouldn't show up on pictures well, but I'm sure it makes a difference in person!
