Hello Darlin Cardmaking Workshop Project 4

It is so hard for me to believe that one week from today is July 3. How did that happen? Where did June go? I bet all of the parents with school-aged children are wondering that too. We need our work days to fly by fast and our time away from work to only move at half speed. Thank goodness I finished this card workshop a few weeks ago; I did not have any time to craft the past few days.

Like Project 3, with this card I auditioned both the front and back of the Hello Darlin paper to see if I liked the striped or stars side better on the card front. When I used striped side I made sure to rotate it so the stripes did not fall the same place on all cards. This is a time I wish I did not do all of my stamping before attaching the background papers as I would have stamped the star on the card in the lower right with Sapphire ink.

While the instruction guide included with the kit, indicates to use the Happy Birthday stamp, I used Celebrate on one of the cards just to make it a bit different.

Even though the changes I made to the cards in the Hello Darlin Cardmaking Workshop were minor compared to what I did when creating the Hello Handsome Cardmaking Workshop, I hope you can envision some tweaks that you can make to the cards to make them uniquely from you.

Hello! It is nice to start the week with some crafting accomplished. I finished the Hello Darlin Cardmaking Workshop Project 3 a couple of weeks ago, but this past weekend I worked on nine cards created from a One Sheet Wonder pattern.

I played with the front and back of the patterned paper and decided to make some cards with the red and while stars and some with the striped side. I like how the red stripes frame the stars and sentiments.

While the instruction guide included with the kit, indicates to use the Celebrate stamp, I used a mix of Celebrate and Happy Birthday.

When I used the striped side, I planned to stamp the stitching in Candy Apple and when I used the stars side I planned to use Sapphire ink, but I got into a groove while stamping and forgot to switch on one card so I stamped the stitches once each in each color.

Up first is Bring Back My Pack—For Always. For Always was introduced in the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book. In 2013, the featured colors were Black, Desert Sand, Honey, Lagoon, Ruby, Slate, Whisper. This time around the featured colors are Black, French Vanilla, Mink, Toffee, White Daisy; the Coordinating Cardstock (CC6238) includes French Vanilla, Black, Toffee, Rosemary, Mist, and Desert Rose. Honestly I think almost any CTMH color would work depending on the theme of your project.

CTMH created a sticker sheet for this special so there is a Paper Pack + Sticker Sheet (CC6236) or you can choose just the Paper Packet (CC6237). Also back is the Love Doily (B1418) and In the Background (D1540) stamp sets. There is also a Scrapbooking Workshop (CC62312), Cardmaking Workshop (CC62311), Product Bundle (CC6239) and Paper Bundle (CC62310). Details are in the flyer below, or download a copy here:

Additional Systems Maintenance

CTMH scheduled a 1-hour system maintenance window for Saturday, June 17, from 8:00–9:00 pm MDT (that is 10pm to midnight for those of us on the East Coast). Online services will be up and down intermittently during this time so place avoid trying to place an order during this timeframe.

Happy Monday?! Is there such a thing? I would be thrilled if the calendar got stuck on Sunday for a good long time. It is no secret that I would love to retire, but since I am more than a decade from full retirement age, I probably need to keep adulting for awhile. Not that I want to.

This is Project 2 from the Hello Darlin Cardmaking Workshop Kit (G1282). Again, my changes were not as pronounced as the Hey Handsome cards I shared in May, but I made changes to all of the sentiments on Project 2.

If you look at the instruction guide included with the kit, you will see that the Project 2 cards say "Happy Birthday Darlin'".

I do not know about everyone, but I do not see myself sending a card with the "Happy Birthday Darlin'" sentiment, so I substituted friend, hello and wishes for darlin'. I believe all of the substitutions were from stamps that came in a Craft With Heart™ Cardmaking Subscription Kit. All of the stamps from the subscription kits sit near my work area so I can easily substitute sentiments from them. If I had to pack up all of my stamps and were only able to keep 10 or so sets with me, I think I the stack would consist of many stamps from the subscription kit. I am sad to see the subscription kits end.

I am back this June with the Hello Darlin Cardmaking Workshop. This month is the last month the April–June 2023 Catalog is valid.

Unlike last month when I made many color changes to the Hey Handsome cards, this month I mainly swapped in different birthday sentiments so each card would look a little different.

All of the sentiment swaps are from previous Craft With Heart™ Cardmaking Subscription Kit. I believe I've mentioned this before, but I can always use more birthday cards since I give some to the "sunshine" chair of our local senior citizens group. 

I hope I did not disappoint that my changes for the Project 1 card were not that dramatic. Enjoy this first full week of June. See you soon.

June 2023 CTMH News

Happy June 2023! I hope you are ready for the warmer–scratch that–hotter temperatures we are forecast for later this week. I like summer, but I am not a fan of the temperatures that are being forecast. We spent part of the past weekend getting our outdoor umbrella base up and ready to shade our patio door and installing a sail-like shade to keep the sun from heating up the front porch and living room. We will try to get by with shade and fans since neither of us are a fan of closing up all of the doors and windows putting on the air. We will see if we can make it through. We are in the final month of the April–June 2023 CTMH catalog.
