When I saw the stamp set my first thought was a graduation card. When I showed it to my mom, she thought it would make a great retirement card.
I used the The World Is Yours paper referred to as (I munged all of the names together) Mint Watercolor (Wash) Leaf Border / Peach Floral. I stamped the bicycle using Espresso ink, the leaves using Mint ink and "The Word is Yours" with Peach. The flower was first stamped with Sage ink and I used the back of the "tree crown" stamp to "watercolor" the flower with Peach ink. I cut a strip of White Daisy 7⁄16" and stamped "Happy Retirement" using Espresso ink and the Modern Typewriter Alphabet.
The fussy cutting of the bicycle took longer than I would have liked and it also took some small bits of Thin 3-D Foam Tape to attach it to the card front, but I think the result was worth it.
I stamped the sentiment inside the card using Espresso ink; the leaves are Mint ink again. I used the same technique for the flower, but this time I used the front of the "tree crown" stamp to "watercolor" the flower.

Beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteNicely done!! Your fussy cutting paid off!
ReplyDeletePretty card...I can't believe you fussy-cut that bicycle!
ReplyDeleteI often don't do anything on the inside as I keep the fronts generic and then can use them for any occasion. This does give me encouragement to try.
ReplyDeleteWonderful retirement card!! Love the inside too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet retirement card!
