Jan–Feb 2020 New Product Blog Hop |
For this hop I created a few cards. I started with trying to use up some scraps from Spruced Up and came up with this card.

Then I was lucky enough to have a recent order arrive earlier than expected so I started playing and came up with some additional birthday cards.

To get skinnier Shimmer Trim strips I attached a length of Shimmer Trim to a piece of cardstock and I used a glass cutting mat, the retired CTMH ruler that had a metal edge (Z1471) and a craft knife. I meant to cut the strip in half, but I was working late at night and did not want to disturb others so I was not working under adequate lighting and I ended up cutting three thin strips.
To create the dragonfly, I stamped Julep ink on Julep cardstock then I covered the entire surface with VersaMark™ Ink, dusted it with Clear Embossing Powder then heated it. Once cool I used a pencil to shape the wings. It is attached with 3-D Foam Tape. To create the bee, I stamped Intense Black ink on Vellum. I used the Heat Tool to dry the ink before using the Citrus TriBlend™ Marker. Then I embossed it as I did the dragonfly, but I did it twice. I also colored the back side of the bee to make it even brights. To hide the adhesive, I used Glue Dots® Mini Dots.
Here are closer images of the dragonfly and bee. Click on either image to get a larger view.
