Floral Celebration Stamp Set |
For our Floral Celebration hop I created this card and I decorated the envelope as well.

I did not use a published pattern; I made it up as I went through the creating process. I planned to use a plaid paper I created using the Build-a-Plaid stamp set (D1886), but then I could not decide how to cut apart the pattern I created. Since I had this "deadline", I started moving the un-inked stamps around on a piece of cardstock until I found something pleasing to my eye.
The flower was stamped three times with Peach ink to make it more vivid. I used the Peach Shimmer Brush to highlight the first inner circle of detail and to splatter a bit. I used Black Diamond Stickles™ Glitter Glue to highlight the negative areas in the center of the flower.
I was inspired by another Consultant for coloring the leaves (and the flower center). Krista of Krista's Crafty Corner–you will visit her blog on this hop–used the techniques on a make and take she offered at a recent event.
The leaf detail was stamped in first generation sage, then I placed the stamp on the block with the detail side facing the block. I inked the back of the stamp and used second generation stamping to color in the leaves.
It is hard to see in the photos so I am not sure it is worth mentioning. I used the outside edge of my scissors to distress the top edge of the Sage cardstock strip. Using scissors with the blades closed, rather than using the blade of the scissors to distress, works just as well, does not dull the blade and is much safer.
