Are you looking to try cardmaking or scrapbooking for the first time? Or do you want to introduce someone to paper crafting? If so, the Starter Cut Above® Starter Kits, part of the current Startup Savings promotion, are a great place to start. They are 20% off, are smaller kits so they are easy to complete in a short period of time, and do not have so many pieces that they are overwhelming.

Please note both layouts shown above have stamping on them; the products used are listed in the paragraphs below.

Since the starter kits come pre-cut, just punch the elements out of the sheet, and add adhesives to put them together. I suggest either the Air Touch Adhesive (Z1510) or the Adhesive Runner (Z3372) and 3-D Foam Tape (Z1151) or Thin 3-D Foam Tape (Z2060), or both foam tapes so you can have a variety of thicknesses to raise decorative elements on the layouts or cards.

I definitely suggest a Black LePen™ (Z4575) to journal on the layouts. You want to document the events in the photos that you are scrapbooking so future generations have the details.

If you want to add some more decoration to your layouts before assembling, there are Starter Stamp Sets, Floral (B1816) and Alphabet (B1817), available. The recommended block for both stamp sets is a 2" × 3½" (Y1009) block. For layout 1 I would suggest using a Papaya Stamp Pad (Z6534) for stamping and for layout 2 I would suggest Sapphire (Z3848).

If you choose the Starter Cut Above® Card Kit, you will need some sentiments for your cards. I suggest the Starter Sentiments Stamp Set (B1815) with a Black Stamp Pad (Z2805). The recommended My Acrylix® block for the Starter Sentiments Stamp Set is also 2" × 3½" (Y1009).

After stamping you can clean your stamps with water and a Stamp Shammy (Z3579). Visit the Stamp Shammy page for an video showing how to use the Stamp Shammy.
