Hello Foxy CTMH SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the June 2017 SOTM Blog Hop featuring the stamp set Hello Foxy. This month there are over 20 bloggers sharing projects created with the CTMH Stamp Of The Month. I am not sure if I was influenced by the card below (which was created by CTMH Corporate artists and is shown on page 57 of Seasonal Expressions 2)

or not, but I think the first time I saw this stamp set I thought about cutting out the wreath. This is the card I came up with.

I tried to create a scene with some dimension, but it it is hard to see in the photo. The foxes were stamped directly on the card base. I used watercolor paints to create a background behind the foxes and watercolor pencils to color in the foxes. I cut a frame from the Juniper patterned paper for my first layer and applied it with E-Z Dots, then, after cutting the oval aperture, I added the tree paper with 3D Foam tape.

To make my floral frame stamp an oval shape, I cut the largest oval Thin Cut out of some scrap paper and placed that behind the My Acrylix block while applying my stamp. After coloring the frame, I cut it out using a craft knife. To center the die cut and foxes, I used a centering ruler to help with placement. I was not even thinking top to bottom placement, but I got very lucky when the cut was revealed - this is something I will need to remember the next time I cut an aperture.

I used a variety of mediums to add color which I hope added dimension. I tried to visualize colors in the distance and remembered they are bolder the closer you are to something and get more muted in the distance.

Since I am not sure how much I love the first card I created, so I also made this simpler card.

I think it is a great option for anyone who might not be as fond as foxes as other people may be. This stamp could easily make an oval or circle shape by changing the angle that the leaves meet. Or stamp further apart (on a larger piece of cardstock) to make corners.

24 Hour Flash Sale Today

June 2017 CTMH News

Hello! Happy June! Here in New York State, and I think several northeastern states, June is the season for high school graduations and weddings. If your family is celebrating this month I hope you have fabulous weather and that your out-of-town family will have a safe journey. June is another exciting month for Close To My Heart.

The June 2017 Stamp of the Month is Hello Foxy

Hello Foxy (S1706) is an exclusive D-size set of 11 stamps that is only available for purchase during the month of June 2017. The stamp set can be yours for $5 when you place an order of $50 or more in qualifying Close To My Heart products (and you qualify for additional sets at $5 for each $50 you spend). Annual Inspirations 2016-2017 ends July 31, 2017

While there are two months left to order from Annual Inspirations 2016-2017, the Corporate Office has already published a list of retiring products. I broke the list into two parts. I posted the retiring stamps on May 13 and other retiring products on May 17. I pinned the retiring products to my Pinterest Board CTMH Retiring Products so you can quickly see a visual of all retiring products.

I expect that during Convention, which takes place the last week of June, a few more items will be retired, specifically some colors. As soon as I learn of any new retiring items, I will post them here on my blog.

I am participating in a blog hop that features stamps that are retiring on July 31, 2017. You will find my post here on June 17. The stamps are manufactured in Utah at Corporate Headquarters so they should remain available until July 31, but all other items on the retiring list are available to July 31 only while supplies last. A few items have already sold out so if there are any products you really want, I encourage you to place your orders sooner rather than later.
