Die-namite Thin Cuts Special

As I mentioned on March 1, this month CTMH has a Die-namite promotion on Thin Cuts.

On the 1st I had hoped to post a list like the one below (so the images would be easier to see), but time escaped me so I posted screenshots of the flyer and a link to download the flyer (in PDF format). During the month of March, the individual Thin Cuts pictured below are 25% off the retail price. When you scroll down, there are select bundles that are 30% off the retail price.

Today is my niece's birthday so I created this card. I thought the paper doll would make a great card for a woman's birthday.

I cut the dress from patterned paper and then highlighted the pattern in the paper using the Clear Shimmer Brush (unfortunately the shimmer is not showing very well in this photo). I thought the shimmer made it a bit more like a party dress. I used the March SOTM — Birthday Time for the sentiment.

I also needed a Thank You card. Since I already had several of my Stamp + Thin Cuts on my desk, I looked though them for ideas.

Some elements on this card, like the torn edge, were inspired by the layout on page 27 of the Holiday Expressions 2017. I used a waterbrush to color using the stamp pads (pinch the pad with the cover on so a little color transfers to the lid). When the bristles got very damp I used a paper towel to dry them so my stamped image would not smear.

Who doesn't need to add birthday cards to their stash for when time gets away from us? I created this card with my stash in mind.

I was inspired by Pattern 14 (page 32) in Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 4, but the C cut was not large enough for the "1 Year Older" stamp, so I decided to use the stamped image in its place.

March 2018 CTMH News

Hello! I am having a hard time believing we are already on our 3rd month of 2018. It is crazy how fast this year is going. I hope you are not feeling the time is passing as fast as I am.

The March 2018 Stamp of the Month is Birthday Time

Birthday Time (S1803) is an exclusive D-size set of 26 stamps that is only available for purchase during the month of March 2018. The stamp set can be yours for $5 when you place an order of $50 or more in qualifying Close To My Heart products (and you qualify for additional sets at $5 for each $50 you spend). Alternatively it is available at $17.95. Recommended CTMH My Acrylix® Blocks for this stamp set are: 1" x 1" (Y1000), 2" x 2" (Y1003), 1" x 6½" (Y1005) and 3" x 3" (Y1006).

Whimsy Fundamentals Collection Thank You Card

I had a few thank you cards to create. I adapted the Celebrate card in this photo (which is in the carousel on my Consultant website during February) for one of my cards.

Instead of using the Sorbet and Crystal Blue combination in the photo, I used Thistle and Sweet Leaf.

I also left off the ribbon (or zip strip - I am not certain which it is) because I might have misjudged what the size to cut the strips. In addition, I had a mostly intact rose near the top of the card, so I decided to let it shine and I added gems to the stamped cardstock. The sentiment is from the February 2018 SOTM Sunny Thoughts.

I needed another Thank You card, so I used the wedding card for inspiration.

This card is similar to the Valentine Card I shared on February 13. Two key differences are the sentiment is printed on the White Daisy cardstock and cut as a larger panel and is print and cut just for the words. I did the same for the top layer of the rose.

 Before adding the sentiment and top layer of the rose to the larger print then cut embellishment I covered them with the Clear Shimmer Brush.
