Bloom & Grow CTMH SOTM Blog Hop

Last year during my break between Christmas and New Years I was working on wedding favors and I think that is what inspired my project. I created packets for wildflower seeds using the stamp set and a cut from the Artfully Sent cartridge.

For the seed packet on the left I cut a 3" x 4" panel from Bashful cardstock and stamped with Heather and Black Momento ink. For the one on the right I stamped directly on the envelope using Pansy and Willow. If I were making these for the wedding last December 31, I would have used Sapphire cardstock with Ranger™ Silver Super Fine Embossing Powder or Pewter cardstock with Sapphire ink and Ranger™ Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder. The ideas are almost limitless.

January 2018 CTMH News

Happy New Year! The year 2017 went by in a flash; I cannot believe I am writing about the January SOTM and specials. With the death of my father 2017 was one of the hardest years of my life so I am not sad to see it behind us. I have hope that 2018 will be a much better year. I wish for the best for you and yours in 2018.

The January 2018 Stamp of the Month is Bloom & Grow

Bloom & Grow (S1801) is an exclusive D-size set of 15 stamps that is only available for purchase during the month of January 2018. The stamp set can be yours for $5 when you place an order of $50 or more in qualifying Close To My Heart products (and you qualify for additional sets at $5 for each $50 you spend). Alternatively it is available at $17.95. Recommended CTMH My Acrylix® Blocks for this stamp set are: 1" x 1" (Y1000), 2" x 2" (Y1003) 2" x 3½" (Y1009) and 4" x 5" (Y1012).

Seasonal Expressions 1 2018

This is the first month the Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book. This idea book is valid from January 1 until April 30, 2018. The book can be viewed on the Idea Books page of my Consultant Website or you can download a PDF of the book here. I am posting a tour of Seasonal Expressions 1 tomorrow.

I have a couple of corrections to share if you are viewing the printed Seasonal Expressions 1 book:

• Thin Cuts—Block Numbers (Z4159) - page 68 - there are 18 dies; the exclamation, the question mark, the ampersand and the comma are in the Thin Cuts—Block Alphabet (Z3386) set, but their images were accidentally included with the numbers set; in addition, there is a small square included with the set that is not pictured
• Designer Travel Ink Case (Z6003) - page 71 - this case holds 10 stamp pads

December Stamp of the Month with Basics Fundamentals

This month the CTMH Corporate Artists created some wonderful items using the December SOTM, A Little Bit of Pun, and the featured paper, Basics Fundamentals.

This artwork is in addition the artwork published in Holiday Expressions. The Corporate Artists created this single-page layout, two cards and a 3-D picture frame.

In this season of gift giving, I was inspired by the gift boxes. I tried to find a Cricut cut to make all of the boxes, but I was unable to find a cut on a CTMH cartridge to make the long rectangular (necklace) box. I was able to find two options for the smaller boxes. I think the gift you intend to place inside and how much cardstock you want to devote to creating boxes will determine which box you like better.

Even cut at 11½" wide, two of this style box will fit on one sheet of cardstock. There is also the added bonus that because you do not glue the bottom, this box can be folded down so you could reuse it if you would like.

I changed this box a bit. I used the slice and weld features in Cricut Design space to make the opening less decorative.

Here is my creation using the box #M3D370 in Cricut Design Space cut at 11½" wide. Rather than knot the ribbon, I used a glue dot to hold the top ribbon layer in place.

Here is a My Acrylix® Stamp Scrubber next to the box so you can estimate how large an item will fit in this box:

There is also extra room from side-to-side when the scrubber is in the box.
