January SOTM Bloom & Grow with Chelsea Gardens

This month the CTMH Corporate Artists created some wonderful items using the January SOTM, Bloom & Grow, and the featured paper, Chelsea Gardens.

This artwork is in addition the artwork published in Seasonal Expressions 1. The Corporate Artists created this single-page layout, two cards and a home décor item.

If you would like a PDF of the recipes, you will find it here.

I was taken with the Love Pot in the photo above. When I was walking the aisles of the JoAnn Fabrics in Vestal, NY looking for terracotta pots to use I found this hanging pot.

The pot can also be used stand alone.

I did not have anymore of the compliment the Corporate Artists used so I created something with the Chelsea Gardens Cardmaking Stamp and Thin Cuts Bundle. I used a "dryish" waterbrush to color in the leaves and flower using ink that transferred to the top of the stamp pad lid. If too much water got on the image I blotted it with a towel. I thought the flower was not defined enough after coloring it so I re-stamped the image. The paper was still a bit wet so the image looks a little embossed. While that was unplanned, I think it was a happy accident.

I used both sides of the cardstock so the succulent would have some shading. I used a crumpled up newspaper in the bottom of the pot so I didn't have to fill it with the Spanish Moss; the pot is a little light. Next time I may add a few pebbles or sand in the bottom so the pot is less likely to tip over.

All supplies I used to create this card are from Close To My Heart:
The January SOTM is available until 11:59pm MST on January 31st. If you decide you would like to purchase the stamp set for $5 with a qualifying purchase, add the other items to your cart and then add the SOTM from the green Promotional Items area of your shopping cart.

I hope you like my version of the Love Pot. Thank you for stopping by today and if you have a few moments, please let me know what you think of my version.
