CTMH Love So Sweet SOTM Blog Hop - April 2019

Welcome to the April 2019 SOTM Blog Hop featuring the stamp set Love So Sweet. This month there are almost 20 Consultants sharing projects they created with the CTMH Stamp Of The Month Love So Sweet. Our blog hop is circular so visiting the next blog will take you back to where you started.

Love So Sweet - CTMH April 2019 SOTM

I did not plan to create the plaid-inspired background until I pulled out my stamp set and thought that might be fun to try. I used the gridlines on my stamping platform to align the stamp and moved the stamp each time rather than the paper. Because I wanted the background to have an easy going feel I did not spend a lot of time making sure the stamp was perfectly aligned with the grid.

The flowers with stamps two to three times using Sugarplum. I used the rock and roll technique to ink most of my other stamps (which is harder to do with a stamp platform). The leaves were first inked with Fern, then I tried to lightly apply New England Ivy to the edges. The large butterfly was inked with Carolina followed by Bluebird. One of the smaller butterflies was inked with Mink then Carolina; the other was inked with Charcoal then Bluebird.

Before attaching the flowers and butterflies, I used a bone folder to shape them.

I use the bone folder on the back of the shape and my thumb on the top to round the shape a bit. On some flowers I used two layers of 3D Foam Tape to keep the dimension I wanted.
