Border Punches: Scallop and Triangle

In this post I am sharing some projects I created using the Scallop (Z1851) and Triangle (Z1997) Border Punch. Both punches are CTMH Cyberweek Sale items that are 25% off until Friday, December 4, 2015 at 6:00 pm EST or while supplies last.

The punches were made so you can create a continuous border of any length; you are only limited by the size of your paper. Just align where you punched with the markings on the base of the punch and punch again.

I will make it a goal for 2016 to use my Triangle Border Punch more often. It must feel lonely without making an appearance on my blog.

CTMH Christmas Countdown Challenge

I am a day late posting this, but I hope you will jump in and join us. The first prompt was posted less than 24 hours ago.

Picture My Life™ White Pines Scrapbooking Program (Z3176)

This year Close To My Heart is having a social media challenge. It is designed to help you document the season and to give you the chance to win big! It is called our Christmas Countdown Challenge.

During December, CTMH will be posting daily photo prompts on Instagram and Facebook inviting you to follow along by taking your own photos and sharing them using the hashtag #ctmhcountdown.

Did you see I said "give you a chance to win big" above? Here are the details:

Each week, CTMH will draw a winner from those who have shared their photos on Instagram and send them their very own Picture My Life™ White Pines scrapbooking program. Then, on December 28, we’ll select five winners from those who have posted every day on either Instagram or Facebook. The prize for these five winners will be a My Legacy™ Cocoa Damask D-Ring album, a Picture My Life White Pines scrapbooking program, and a Memory Protectors™ variety pack! Please join us for the festivities and your own chance to win!

I hope you will play along with us. I would LOVE to see one of my followers listed as a winner. Good luck!

Giftable Wearable Art

Today's project are quick and easy pieces of wearable art using items from the Base & Bling Jewelry line. The winter/Christmas-themed charms from the Base & Bling collection are CTMH Cyberweek Sale items that are 25% off until Friday, December 4, 2015 at 6:00 pm EST or while supplies last.

When you purchase any of the six styles pictured below, they are 25% off and you receive 3 each of 1 design with jump rings.

Base & Bling Snowflake Charm—Faux Gold (Z3111)
Base & Bling Jingle Bell—Faux Gold (Z3112)
Base & Bling Red Bead Charm—Faux Gold (Z3138)
Base & Bling Snowflake Charm—Faux Silver (Z3135)
Base & Bling Jingle Bell—Faux Silver (Z3136)
Base & Bling Red Bead Charm—Faux Silver (Z3139)
Base & Bling wearable art is easy to create. I first shared this video in February 2014, but the tips and techniques are just as useful today.

A wonderful thing about the Base & Bling line is the loop to hang the pendants and the jump rings to attach the coordinating charms are large enough that you do not need any tools to create them (unless you do not want your charms to move along the chain). It also means that you can easily change the appearance of your wearable art by adding more charms or swapping pendants. Just slide them over the end opposite the lobster claw clasp. In addition, as I tried to show in this photo, there is a 2" extender on the chains for those that want a longer drape.

Here are two of the pendants I created using the Jolly Holiday Style Sheet:

I did not open the jump rings and attach them to a link on the chain because I wanted to be able to change the piece depending on my top and other jewelry I am wearing. If you want your charms to "stay put" and not cluster together, you many want to use jewelry pliers to attach the charms to the chain.

I used the following CTMH products to create the pendants shown above:
While the above list of supplies seems long, when you purchase the style sheet, you have 24 rectangle/oval and 32 square/circle options. When you purchase any shape of pendants, circle, square, oval or rectangle, you receive 3 pendants. The same is true for the coordinating glass covers and the charms, so when creating gifts you can stretch these items and purchase extra chains.

If you have a question about the Base & Bling products or the Cyberweek Sale, send me an email. If you are ready to place an order or would like to research any product, the Shop Now button will take you there.

Candlelight Garden December 2015 SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the December 2015 SOTM Blog Hop featuring the stamp set Candlelight Garden. This month there are almost 35 bloggers sharing projects they created with Candlelight Garden. If blog hopping is new to you, just keep clicking on the link to the next blog (typically near the bottom of the post) to visit the next stop. Blog hops are circular so visiting the next blog will take you back to where you started.

The SOTM for December 2015, Candlelight Garden, is a D-size set of 10 stamps that is $5 with a qualifying purchase. Alternatively you may purchase it for $17.95. Recommended CTMH My Acrylix® Blocks for this stamp set are: 1" x 1" (Y1000), 1" x 3½" (Y1002), 2" x 3½" (Y1009), 2" x 6½" (Y1010) and 4" x 4" (Y1012). The stamps in the Candlelight Garden set are:

You should have arrived here from ***Lori Brown's Saving My...***. If you get lost along the way, Melinda Everitt keeps a list of participants on her blog at If You Bling It.

For today's hop I created this layout in remembrance of the horrible events in Paris on Friday, November 13, 2015.

I bent and shaped the "swag" stamp to try to make it appear to be lights draped on the Eiffel Tower. I filled in each circle with sparkles. I fussy cut the candle and flowers to resemble the memorials that appeared after that terrible night. I am waiting to find the right photo to place in the lower left. It will be matted with the Slate cardstock.

I plan to display the layout in a Designed Décor Black Shadow Box.

Before you head to ***Michele Rowley's Evergreen Memories***, the supplies I used to create my project are listed below.

All supplies are from Close To My Heart except where noted:
If you would like to start with my Design Space file, you will find it here. If you create a page to record memories, hopefully happy memories, of Paris, I would love to see your creation.

If you are not working with a CTMH Independent Consultant yet, you may purchase the supplies I used at my Online Business Address.

I love to hear what people think of my crafts, so if you have a moment I would be delighted if you leave a comment. So you do not have to scroll back up, the next stop on the hop is ***Michele Rowley's Evergreen Memories***.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you are enjoying the hop.

Quick and Easy Birthday Card

Cut Above™ Dapper Giraffe Card Kit (Z3147)
Just add the birthday greeting of your choice and you end up with a quick, easy and cute birthday card. By changing the stamp you use, you could also make a thinking of you card for a grandchild that does not live nearby or a get well card for a younger (or young-at-heart) person. Here is how one of my cards turned out:

I used the following CTMH products:

Planners Gonna Plan

During the month of December, while supplies if the bundle last, you can order this planner bundle only $29.95. That is a 15% savings.

Since the items are available to individual purchase, you need to use item number for the bundle, CC1059, to receive the bundle price. The items included in the bundle are:

  • Everyday Life™ 2016 Planner Pages (Z3209) - $15.95

Here is a bit more information about each item:

  • The 2016 planner pages consist of 154 pages, including 1 pocket folder page, 12 monthly dividers with tabs, 1 designed page finder, and 4 sheets of stickers. The pages are 3-ring hole punched and measure 8 3/8” x 6 7/8.” The pages include both monthly and weekly spreads that begin January 2016 and run through December 2016.
  • The roller stamp coordinates with the label stickers that come with the 2016 planner pages and features titles, reminders, and additional images.
In mid-November I shared a video that shows a bit more about the planner. Here it is again for your convenience:

You may have noticed that there are additional items that coordinate with the Everyday Life™ Planner.
