Time to Celebrate Stamp Set

I don't know why, but I thought of a wedding card every time I looked at this stamp set. Maybe it is due to the placement of the stamp on the carrier sheet. Maybe it is because we are approaching the traditional wedding season or even more likely it was the sleep deprivation making me gravitate to what I thought might be an easier card to create. :-) Regardless, I hope you like the card I came up with.

My first thought was to do tone-on-tone heat embossing, but it was more subtle than I planned, so I decided to try something that I rarely do. I used a wedge of the Round Sponge (Z697) to ink the card with Peach ink. I held the card closed so I could pass over the "seam", worked in a circular motion coming onto the card from the outside edges - that is, I placed the card on a glass cutting mat and started sponging on the glass then moved onto the paper. I hope that makes sense.

The belly band was cut on the Cricut® Maker™ using an image from the Cricut® Art Philosophy Collection. I ungrouped the image to remove one of the layers then I unlocked the sizing to get the scallop shape I wanted. I duplicated the image and flipped one copy. I then aligned the two scallop shapes and welded. I duplicated that and aligned them end-to-end to create a longer strip. I did that until I had a strip long enough to wrap around with some overlap then used a Glue Dot to keep it closed. I also used Glue Dots to attach the flowers to the strip.

The card base was cut with a trimmer because it uses the cardstock more efficiently; I used the Cricut® Maker™ 2 to cut the belly band.
