Engraved Snowflake Ornament

Today I am continuing to share a project I created at Anna Griffin Create 2019.

Prior to the start of Create 2019 we completed a survey. One of the questions on the survey was about our experience with Cricut® products and if we would like to take a Cricut® Master Class. While I was not initially assigned to the class, I found someone willing to trade with me. The Cricut® Master Class was taught by Desi Moss & Megan Patterson from Cricut.

In the class we created this engraved snowflake ornament.

We were given the clear acrylic ornament in class and etched the word we wanted on the front of the acrylic using Design Space and the Maker. I was not fond of how my last name looked on this project, it seemed heavy on the left, so I selected a word I associate with the winter holidays. We also etched the year on the metal disc.

So the etching would be easier to see on the acrylic, we applied Cricut® Gold Foil Iron-on to the back of printed paper using the Cricut®EasyPress. Then we cut the same snowflake shape. The foil/cardstock snowflake, acrylic snowflake and metal disc were hung together with a jump ring. Gold ribbon was added to the jump ring to create a hanger for the ornament.

Enjoy the cooler and less humid weather we have been blessed with. Take care and have a good weekend.
