It is with sadness that I share with you that Close To My Heart has "determined that the time has come to discontinue our Studio J service." While I did not use Studio J® often, I used it to create photo sizes that are not easy to get printed locally, especially the sizes that work well with Picture My Life™.
If you placed a Studio J® order in the past year you should have received a message about the service on January 19. CTMH also posted this information in Studio J®.

Thank you for using Studio J® Online Design Software. We are glad to have been able to provide this tool for preserving your cherished memories. While we wish we could continue providing this service to you, we will be discontinuing Studio J as of April 30, 2016, or when our current supplies of photo paper are exhausted.
Since an announcement of this type is likely to increase the load on the system, there is an increased possibility that you may encounter technical difficulties as you create in Studio J, especially as we near the end of April. We invite you to place your orders as soon as possible for any layouts you may be working on or may have planned on creating.
Thank you again for using our Studio J software. We invite you to contact your Close To My Heart Consultant for more information regarding our complete line of beautiful and useful papercrafting products that make preserving your memories and telling your stories a work of art.
With this announcement item SJ1001, Studio J layout credits, have been discontinued. If you have already purchased Studio J credits, be sure to use them before the retirement date of April 30 (earlier if possible since Studio J could be discontinued earlier if the supply of photo paper is exhausted sooner than anticipated).

Travel Memories with Picture My Life
There are only a few more hours remaining in the CTMH Cyberweek Sale. Cyberweek Sale items are 25% off until 6:00 pm EST today, Friday, December 4, 2015, or while supplies last.
I was hoping I would get a chance to finish, or at least have a few pages completed in, a Picture My Life™ album I am creating, but some other obligations (the job that pays the mortgage, replacing the microwave that decided to die on Thanksgiving, you know, the same things that shortens your crafty time) had to come first. I am using the Picture My Life™ Going Places Scrapbooking Program (Z3180) to scrap photos from a trip we took to Canada on the Rocky Mountaineer (highly recommended).

Studio J® Flash Sale Extension
Earlier this afternoon I received this update from Close To My Heart.
"Wow! We are seeing a tremendous response to the Studio J® Flash Sale! All this increased traffic is causing the system to respond a bit more slowly than you are probably used to. In an effort to alleviate some of that traffic, we are extending the sale through Monday, August 3 at 11:59 pm (MDT). But don't wait until then to get your order in—submit yours as early as you can so that you can take advantage of this phenomenal deal on Studio J layouts."
I am sure if you have great weather you will not want to be inside in front of your computer, but if your weather this weekend is not the best, I hope you will give Studio J® a try. You do not have to download and install software and you do not have to pay for anything until you approve the results on screen. While I have not used Studio J® to create layouts, I have used it to print non-traditional sized photos. The best results I have ever had.

Studio J® Flash Sale
Close To My Heart is having a Flash Sale until July 31, 2015 on Studio J®.
In addition to creating digital scrapbook pages, Studio J® is perfect for printing photos. You can print photos in any size up to 12" x 12" by using the No Limits pattern and Custom Photo Wells. I posted more information and a video here. If you want to print "standard" size photos, use Photo Express Collections to "print" your photos in a variety of sizes.
The Photo Express Collection choices are:
You do not have to complete all of the layouts or photos sheets in Studio J® in one sitting; the minimum purchase is 5 layouts. You may save your project and come back to it later.

During the month of February, while supplies last, when you purchase one of Close To My Heart’s alluring coated canvas albums you will be eligible to receive a second album of your choice at half price (My Legacy™ faux leather albums are excluded). The albums are available in both post-bound and D-ring styles in three colors and patterns. The albums are perfect to use with traditional, Studio J® or pocket scrapbook layouts. They hold from 25 to 50 layouts depending on their thickness. If you order from my OBA, after a qualifying album is in your cart you will be prompted at checkout to add a discounted album. As long as supplies are available you may purchase one half price album for each qualifying album you have in your cart.
On my December 24, 2014 post I shared a video showing the album options. Also on that post is a video about the Spine Expanders (Z4120). As I mentioned at the beginning of the month, from January 1 through February 28 there is a special edition Studio J® Express Collection. It was designed by CTMH studio artists with your holiday photos in mind. The limited edition collection has 10 pre-designed layouts plus a cover and last page featuring designs from the Yuletide Carol paper packet.

New Studio J® Express Collection for Your Holiday Photos
From January 1 through February 28 there will be a new Studio J® Express Collection designed by CTMH studio artists with your holiday photos in mind. This limited edition collection has 10 pre-designed layouts plus a cover and last page featuring designs from the Yuletide Carol paper packet. There are 65 photo wells to accommodate many holiday photos. Try to set aside some time on New Years Day to select the photos you would like to use so you have plenty of time to create your layouts before this Express Collection disappears when the clock strikes 11:59pm on February 28.
Extra Hostess Rewards in January 2015

When you sign into Studio J®, after uploading photos, choose "Start with an Express Collection". Scroll down a little and on the left you will find "Photo Collections". Click on it and continue and on the next screen there are seven pre-set photo wells collections including one for 3" x 4 photos" with half the wells in portrait format and half in landscape, just like PML.

CTMH March 2014 Stamp of the Month: Happy Place
Can you believe it? At the end of this month 2014 will be one-quarter over. Where has the time gone? I hope you have been snuggled in and enjoying crafting.

Springtime Studio Savings

Or you can use the new Photo Express Collections to "print" your photos in a variety of sizes. To find the new Photo Express Collection templates, go to Studio J and sign in (if you do not have a CTMH/Studio J account yet you will be prompted to create one). I am going to guess that you have not tried Studio J yet, so we are going to "Create a new project". You will be prompted to name the project and then will be prompted to upload photos. After you have uploaded photos, choose "Continue" in the lower right. You will then be prompted to select a layout type. If you want to create custom photo wells as shown in the above video choose "Create Your Own Custom Layout", but if you want to use the Photo Express Collections, choose "Start with an Express Collection". Scroll down until you see "Photo Collections (7 layouts)". Click on it once and choose Continue. Then choose the size photos you would like and Continue.

You can start a Studio J project and save it to come back to later. The save button is a little small so I want to be certain you can easily find it: save is located in the gray bar just under "Purchase" in the upper right corner.

An Oldie, but a Goodie
You are probably familiar enough with YouTube to know when you view a video that you will be offered other videos to view based on what you just viewed. Recently YouTube suggested Autumn Projects to Fall For (S02E10). This video was posted a little over 3 years ago so some of the products and pricing have changed, but there are still some great tips and ideas presented.
The video I am sharing today is Autumn Projects to Fall For (S02E10) and the CTMH Corp. description is "You'll fall head over heels for the techniques featured in this episode! Print Photos using Studio J® Custom Photo Wells
Studio J®, CTMH's digital scrapbooking product (I do not call it software because you do not have to download and install anything), now has Custom Photo Wells. What does that mean for you? You now have more control over how your photos will look on your Studio J® layout. You can also use the No Limits pattern to create your own layout completely from scratch. Just think, if you find a sketch you love, you can recreate it in Studio J®. Or you can create a photo collage. Another exiting result using the No Limits pattern with Custom Photo Wells: you can now use Studio J® to print the photos you plan to use in your traditional scrapbooking! Just think - no more printing a 4x6 photo only to cut it down to 2x2 or 3x3 for a layout you have seen in a sketch! How to create a Studio J® layout with Custom Photo Wells to print photos for your classic scrapbooks is discussed in additional detail at approximately 4:30 into the video below.

June 2011 - Miracle Kit: How to Make a Ribbon Flower
There was no July 2011 Love Your Layout video, so we are moving to June 2011. In this video, Love Your Layout: June 2011, the Miracle kit is used. We create a custom embellishment using standard embellishments and My Stickease®. We also make a ribbon pinwheel just using a ribbon knot, a My Stickease® flower and some brads. We also make some of the works in our journaling stand out by making them slightly larger and a different color.

In August 2011, Close To My Heart published two Love Your Layout videos.
In the first video the Fanfare kit is used. We learn the different ways to change paper - one way only let's us change the color, the other let's us change the pattern. We also use stars to dot our "i's". Don't forget you can use your mouse or arrows on your keyboard to move items. Using the arrows moves items a little at a time which may give your more control.
